Encyclopedia of historical weapons - War hammer

Also called martel and horseman's pick. A short-hafted hammer used mainly in the late fifteenth and sixteenth cen­turies as a percussive weapon. The horseman's pick combined the hammer head with a long, curved pick-shaped fluke.
