A horizontal bow set at 90 degrees to the tiller and spanned by mechanical means. Originally made of horn, wood, and sinew, the bowstave was later made of steel. See also Arbalest.

Broadsword
Term usually stands for Medieval swords which is, in fact, wrong. This misnomer comes from Victorian collectors of the early 19th century.
Coat-armor
Top-covering piece of clothing. Popular in tournaments where it presented the beholder’s coat of arms.
Fist mace
Iron or steel mace shaped like a clenched fist.
