The lower part of a sword. Consists of a cross-guard, handle/grip, and a pommel. Medieval swords are most likely to have a straight cross or a cruciform hilt.

Also spelt cowter. Plate armor protecting the elbow.
Flammards
Also flambards. Two-handed swords with a certain wave or with a flamed blade.
Pommel bolt

Bard, or Barding
A term for horse armor, which could be made from a variety of materials, including mail and plate.
